Randy Ivie successfully defended a client charged with a Driving While Impaired (DWI) in a trial in the Kernersville District Court. The verdict was "Not Guilty".
As a matter of interest, a person drinking should be careful sitting in the driver's seat of a running car. By law, one could be convicted of a DWI while sitting in the driver's seat of a motor vehicle in a public area. This includes streets and parking lots.
By example, imagine a cold, football tailgating event. You want to warm your hands with the heat. You sit in the driver's seat of the car and crank it up. You've consumed a few toddies. This could be enough to get you charged by a police officer and convicted.
